Technology & Innovation Awards reward the SMEs
which have made significant advance in the application
of technology to a production or development process,
leading to increased efficiency and improved product
quality.
Objectives
To identify and praise
enterprises for their ability to innovate, choice
of technology, and ability for sustained technology
transfers
To identify
strengths and weaknesses of SMEs and formulate appropriate
policy decisions
To design capacity building
programmes on technology management to improve competitiveness
of SMEs
To promote the access
to, and transfer of, technology within the SME community
To stimulate SMEs to innovate
in terms of process and product technology
Criteria
Participants are assessed in relation to the following
criteria over three years (2002-2004):
Use of innovative technology
Improved efficiency
Enhanced product quality
Size of operations
Commercial success achieved
