Introduction |

The Small and Medium Industries Development Organisation
(SMIDO) is the prime support institution for Small and
Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Mauritius.
It was established under the SMALL AND MEDIUM INDUSTRIES
DEVELOPMENT ORGANISATION ACT 1993 as a parastatal body.
It aims at fostering the growth and development of SMEs.

| Registration of SMEs |
SMIDO receives and processes
applications from entrepreneurs for an SME Certificate.
Only manufacturing enterprises, with an investment in
production equipment of an aggregate CIF value not exceeding
Rs.10 million, qualify for registration.
Holders of an SME certificate benefit from the following
incentives:
